Congratulations to Miguel Gallego Balester! The granted research will focus on macroscopic systems, i.e. systems with a large number of degrees of freedom or a large number of particles, in realistic situations subject to decoherence, coarse-graining and particle losses. The main goal of the project is to quantify the amount of decoherence, coarse-graining and losses that one can tolerate in order to preserve quantum effects in the macroscopic limit.
