The Prof. Dr Marko V. Jarić Foundation has awarded the prestigious Marko Jarić Prize to Dr Borivoje Dakić

The Prof. Dr Marko V. Jarić Foundation has awarded the Marko Jarić Prize to Dr Borivoje Dakić. The award ceremony took place in the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade.

Often referred to as the “Serbian Nobel Prize for Physics,” the Marko Jarić Prize has been awarded for over 25 years in recognition of outstanding scientific achievements in physics. It is financially supported by the Institute of Physics Belgrade, which also organizes the award ceremony.

The 2024 Prize Jury, chaired by Professor Dr Miroljub Dugić (University of Kragujevac), reached its decision unanimously. Jury members included Dr Goran Isić, Dr Srđan Samurović, Professor Dr Igor Savić, and Professor Dr Maja Burić.

The Marko Jarić Foundation, established in 1998, aims to preserve the legacy of physicist Marko Jarić (1952–1997). Its main activity is the annual awarding of the eponymous prize to researchers who have made exceptional contributions to the field of physics.
